“The Twizza Super School Series is a very exciting, energetic athletics series,” says Andi Wolmarans, Bethlehem Voortrekker High School Sports Organiser. “All the best schools in the country participate at this meeting, so the competition is strong. This level of competition is very important as it prepares our athletes for the season. Our goal is to build and improve on our standards. Our strongest events will be the field events.”
“To be the best, you have to compete against the best,” says Mike van der Walt, High School Secunda Biokineticist / Athletics Director. “The Twizza Super School Series is an awesome initiative that allows schools from across South Africa to compete against each other at a well organised series of events. We firmly believe in developing our athletes. By taking part in the series we are able to do just that. Our goal is to make it to the final.”
According to JJ Smith, Menlopark High School’s Academic Head: Athletics, the Twizza Super School Series is a great opportunity to show the class of SA’s upcoming athletes. “The format of the event is really exciting. It allows a school to participate as a team on a National Level. This level of competition is very important. The exposure that our athletes experience builds maturity, especially for the athletes that have not yet participated at Nationals. This unique competition strengthens our school program and excites our top performers.”
The Twizza Super School Series is an innovation concept,” says JP van der Merwe, Helpmekaar College Senior Deputy Headmaster. “We strive to expose our pupils to the best competition available. We get to do just that be taking part in the Twizza Super School Series. Our goal will be to improve on our 3rd place finish of 2019.”
According to Willem Coertzen, Potchefstroom Gymnasium Athletics Organizer, the Twizza Super School Series features great competition with great opportunities for athletes. “The event gives every school in the country the chance to compete against each other. This does not normally happen as schools are in different districts and leagues over the country. It’s very important to expose our athletes to this level of competition. We are not a big school, but we have a big athletics culture. For us to go up against the big schools and excel is really big achievement.”
“The Twizza Super School Series is really good exposure for our athletes,” says Danelle Bisschoff, Rustenburg High School Athletics Director. “Both our existing and up and coming athletics talent will get to compete against SA’s best. It really is an amazing opportunity for these athletes. Our goal will be to enjoy every minute, while allowing our athletes to gauge their abilities against SA’s finest.”
According to Marna van der Merwe, Ellisras High School Head of Athletics and Girls Sport, the Twizza Super School Series provides their athletes with a brilliant opportunity to test their level of performance. “Our principal and school are passionate about the sport of athletics. We cannot miss an opportunity like the Twizza Super School Series. Our goal will be to perform at the same level as the bigger Gauteng based schools. We also expect a few brilliant individual performances from our athletes.”
