The search for South Africa’s #Number1 athletics school will commence in September 2021 as event organisers announce that the much-anticipated Twizza Super School Series Regional Qualifier #1 will take place at the Ruimsig Athletics Stadium on Wednesday 29 September 2021 followed by the Regional Qualifier #2 at the Greenpoint Athletics Stadium on Saturday 23 October 2021. The National Final will take place in February 2022.
Launched in 2019, the Twizza Super School Series has very quickly become a highlight on the schools’ athletics calendar and has one clear goal in mind – to crown SA’s best athletics school! There can be only ONE WINNER! The winning school will take home bragging rights for one year!
“We are excited to announce the dates of the 2021/2022 Twizza Super School Series,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports. “After an action-packed 2020 Olympic Games, SA’s junior track & field stars are hungry for competition. Not only will the Twizza Super School Series provide athletes with the opportunity to perform at a higher level, but it will also expose the next generation of athletes to the mechanics of a major series from call rooms to heats and finals. Together with Twizza, a proudly South African brand whose passion is infectious, we look forward to hosting a high-octane schools track & field series that is guaranteed to be a memorable experience for all involved.”
“We look forward to adrenaline pumping racing at the 2021/2022 Twizza Super School Series,” says Lance Coertzen, Twizza Group Marketing Manager. “We loved seeing the determination in the eyes of the athletes at the previous events. While the camaraderie between team members was heart-warming, it was the level of respect shown between athletes from competing schools that stood out the most to us. The future of Track and Field in South Africa is bright, and we are excited to part of it.”
Coertzen adds: “The impact of the pandemic has been far reaching with school sporting events also being suspended numerous times over the past 18 months. We are proud to give SA’s future track and field stars the opportunity to face healthy competition, while representing their schools at a premium track and field meeting. We cannot wait to make more memories while creating moments with schools, scholars and parents at the Twizza Super School Series in 2021. We would like to invite all Track & Field supporters to #TasteTheMoment with Twizza.”
